One‐Shot Multimaterial 3D Printing of a Flexible Spine for a Robotic Fish Prototype

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 8, August 2026.
A one‐shot multimaterial 3D printing approach enables a monolithic soft robotic fish integrating a compliant spine and rigid vertebrae. Electromagnetic linear actuators drive tendon‐based transmission, producing controlled tail oscillations. Finite element modeling and experiments show strong agreement, while optimized material selection improves ...

Electrospun Polyimide Membrane for Mechanically and Thermally Durable High Performance Lithium‐Ion Battery Separator

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 8, August 2026.
PI‐based nonwoven nanofiber membrane was prepared by syringeless electrospinning, roll pressing, and thermal imidization. The PI separator showed outstanding mechanical strength and excellent thermal stability. With improved electrolyte wettability, PI separator exhibited enhanced ionic conductivity and Li+ transference number.

Advanced Sorbent Materials in Solid‐Phase Extraction: A Decade of Innovation and Future Perspectives

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 6, Issue 8, August 2026.
This review systematically summarizes five families of advanced sorbent materials for solid‐phase extraction (SPE): nanocarbons, porous frameworks (MOFs/COFs), smart polymers, biomass‐derived sorbents, and multifunctional composites. Key molecular interactions (π–π stacking, hydrogen bonding, electrostatic attraction, host–guest recognition) are ...

Comparative Analysis of the Mechanical and Biofilm Surface Formation of 3D Printed Resins and Milled PMMA Blocks With and Without Inorganic Fillers

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 12, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives Despite the growing number of studies assessing the performance of temporary restorative materials fabricated through CAD/CAM technologies, comparative analyses among 3D printed resins and milled PMMA blocks with differing compositions remain limited.

The Effects of Suspended Sediments, Dye, and Their Variation on Fish Behavior

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 8, August 2026.
Human activities are affecting the visual environments of freshwater ecosystems by introducing visual pollutants such as artificial dyes and elevated suspended sediment levels. Our research shows that dyes and suspended sediments can have contrasting effects of fish behavior, with dye increasing and sediments decreasing movement.

Noise and Vibration Analysis of a Tri‐Lobe Compressor for Industry Application: A Finite Element and Campbell Diagram Approach

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 8, August 2026.
Finite element and Campbell analyses evaluated noise and vibration in a tri‐lobe compressor. A critical speed of 243 rad/s due to backward whirl was identified. Modal and static results revealed vibration hotspots at flanges and lobe tips. Design optimization enhances structural integrity, reduces resonance risk, and minimizes noise emission.
