Damage Characteristics of Coated Cylindrical Shells Subjected to Underwater Contact Explosion

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2014
It is of great significance for the protective design of submarine to study the influences of coverings on the damage characteristics of single and double cylindrical shells subjected to underwater contact explosions.

Experiment and simulation analysis on noise reduction of cylindrical shells with viscoelastic material

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2019
In order to solve the problem of mid-low frequency noise reduction in cylindrical shells, the experimental and simulation methods are used to study the noise reduction performance of cylindrical shells with different acoustic covering layers in the mid ...

A Versatile Engineering Platform for the Fabrication of Prosthetic Venous Valves Using Electrospinning

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Percutaneous prosthetic venous valves are fabricated by embedding stents in an electrospun matrix that extends luminally to form leaflets. The design shields leaflets from hyperplastic cells, isolates struts from blood contact, and avoids discrete anchoring points.

Start, Stop, Rewind, Repeat—Cyclic Exposure of Adipose Stromal Cells‐derived Cartilage Organoids to Chondrogenic and Proliferative Cues to Achieve Scaled‐up and Customizable Bone Formation by Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study exploits the plasticity of ASCs‐derived cartilage organoids which generate a perichondrial layer of MSCs when exposed to cyclic chondrogenic/proliferative cues. Using these organoids as building blocks, we develop (i) Phalange Shaped Tissue Engineered Cartilage (Pa‐TECs), recapitulating endochondral ossification suitable for the treatment of

Design of Inner Ribs with Unequal Stiffness for Deep-Sea Highly Pressure-Resistant Cylindrical Shells and Utilizing NSGA-2 for Lightweight Optimization

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
For conducting scientific research at depths in the ocean, deep-sea probes are essential pieces of equipment. The cylindrical shell is the most sensible and rational packaging structure for these detectors.

Laminate circular cylindrical shell

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The paper deals with a numerical approach of optimal design modelling of laminate circular cylindrical shell. For thin-walled shells the classical shell theory is capable of accurately predicting the shell behaviour.
