Cyprinid herpesvirus‐2 (CyHV‐2): a comprehensive review [PDF]
AbstractCyprinid herpesvirus‐2 (CyHV‐2) is a linear double‐stranded DNA virus in the genus Cyprinivirus of family Alloherpesviridae. The virus is known to be highly pathogenic to ornamental goldfish (Carassius auratus), crucian carp (C. carassius) and Gibel carp (C. auratus gibelio), and also to the hybrids of goldfish and other carps.

Susceptibility and Permissivity of Zebrafish (Danio rerio) Larvae to Cypriniviruses
The zebrafish (Danio rerio) represents an increasingly important model organism in virology. We evaluated its utility in the study of economically important viruses from the genus Cyprinivirus (anguillid herpesvirus 1, cyprinid herpesvirus 2 and cyprinid

Glass eels and viruses – a lesson learnt from stocking the eastern German Baltic Sea coast
Abstract Concerns about Anguillid herpesvirus 1 (AngHV‐1) in European eels, especially due to stocking measures, is increasingly coming into focus and raises questions regarding disease monitoring and prevention. In the past, stocking of AngHV‐1‐positive eels into waters assumed AngHV‐1‐free has led to a rapid increase of infected eels in the wild. For

Establishment and characterization of fantail goldfish fin (FtGF) cell line from goldfish, Carassius auratus for in vitro propagation of Cyprinid herpes virus-2 (CyHV-2) [PDF]
Background Herpesviral hematopoietic necrosis disease, caused by cyprinid herpesvirus-2 (CyHV-2), is responsible for massive mortalities in the aquaculture of goldfish, Carassius auratus.

Identification of an essential virulence gene of cyprinid herpesvirus 3 [PDF]
The genus Cyprinivirus consists of a growing list of phylogenetically related viruses, some of which cause severe economic losses to the aquaculture industry. The archetypal member, cyprinid herpesvirus 3 (CyHV-3) causes mass mortalities worldwide in koi

Complete genome sequence and taxonomic position of anguillid herpesvirus 1 [PDF]
Eel herpesvirus or anguillid herpesvirus 1 (AngHV1) frequently causes disease in freshwater eels. The complete genome sequence of AngHV1 and its taxonomic position within the family Alloherpesviridae were determined. Shotgun sequencing revealed a 249 kbp

Genomic and biologic comparisons of cyprinid herpesvirus 3 strains [PDF]
Cyprinid herpesvirus 3 (CyHV-3) is the archetypal fish alloherpesvirus and the etiologic agent of a lethal disease in common and koi carp. To date, the genome sequences of only four CyHV-3 isolates have been published, but no comparisons of the biologic ...

Complete genome sequence and architecture of crucian carp Carassius auratus herpesvirus (CaHV) [PDF]
Crucian carp Carassius auratus herpesvirus (CaHV) was isolated from diseased crucian carp with acute gill hemorrhages and high mortality. The CaHV genome was sequenced and analyzed.
