Electrochemical Biosensors for Cancer Biomarker Detection: Basic Concept, Design Strategy and Cutting‐Edge Development

open access: yesElectrochemical Science Advances, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cancer is a result of uncontrolled cell growth with the potential to damage or spread to another part of the body. It is the deadliest disease in the world; therefore, rapid and sensitive detection is essential to fight it. In the past few decades, many diagnosis tools have been developed to detect cancer and monitor therapy progress.

Synthesis, X-ray Structures, Electronic Properties, and O\u3csub\u3e2\u3c/sub\u3e/NO Reactivities of Thiol Dioxygenase Active-Site Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Mononuclear non-heme iron complexes that serve as structural and functional mimics of the thiol dioxygenases (TDOs), cysteine dioxygenase (CDO) and cysteamine dioxygenase (ADO), have been prepared and characterized with crystallographic, spectroscopic ...

Infantile Cystinosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Infantile cystinosis is a rare disorder which leftuntreated results in end -stage renal disease early in life. Together with dehydration and electrolyte imbalance due to renal tubular Fanconi syndrome, endstage renal disease used to be the leading cause

Counter Electrodes Based on Polyaniline/carbon Nanotube/CuxS Nanocomposites for CdS Quantum Dots‐Sensitized Solar Cells

open access: yesEnergy Technology, EarlyView.
Counter electrodes (CE) based on Polyaniline are easily prepared via electrodeposition. The polyaniline‐multi‐walled carbon nanotubes/copper sulfide (PANI‐MWCNT/CuxS) CEs exhibited better electrocatalytic activity than the other materials prepared, such as Cu and CuxS.

Scanning Gate Spectroscopy on Nanoclusters

open access: yes, 1999
A gated probe for scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) has been developed. The probe extends normal STM operations by means of an additional electrode fabricated next to the tunnelling tip.

Conformational Equilibrium of Cysteamine on Silver Metal Surface Studied by Surface‐Enhanced Raman Scattering

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is employed to study solvent‐induced conformational changes of cysteamine on silver bumpy nanoshells (AgNS). The trans to gauche SERS intensity ratio (Itrans/Igauche) was lowest in water and highest in aprotic acetonitrile, indicating distinct surface conformations.

Viscoelasticity Can Be Tuned Through Covalent Incorporation of Chondroitin Sulphate in Allylated Gelatin Hydrogels

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, EarlyView.
Incorporation of thiolated chondroitin sulphate in gelAGE hydrogels and the production of heterogeneous samples, allows us to provide cells with a dynamic environment, by tuning hydrogel viscoelasticity, rather than elasticity alone, for functional advancing tissue engineering replacements.

Investigation of copper-cysteamine nanoparticles as a new photosensitizer for anti-hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Biology & Therapy, 2019
Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a primary malignancy of the liver and occurs predominantly in patients with underlying chronic liver disease and cirrhosis. HCC is now the third leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide, with over 500,000 people affected.
