Synthesis Of Some Novel Silver-Cysteamine Complexes [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2000
The aim of this research was to synthesize some new silver-cysteamine complexes of potential biological interest. Reactions were carried out between silver nitrate and cysteamine (2-aminoethanethiol hydrochloride) under different conditions of pH and ...

Cysteamine ophthalmic hydrogel for the treatment of ocular cystinosis [PDF]

open access: yesFarmacia Hospitalaria, 2017
Ocular cystinosis is a rare disease characterised by the deposit of cystine crystals on the corneal surface, which hinder patients’ eyesight. Oral cysteamine is given as cysteamine; however, it does not reach the cornea due to the lack of corneal ...

Oral cysteamine as an adjunct treatment in cystic fibrosis pulmonary exacerbations: An exploratory randomized clinical trial. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
BackgroundEmerging data suggests a possible role for cysteamine as an adjunct treatment for pulmonary exacerbations of cystic fibrosis (CF) that continue to be a major clinical challenge.

Cysteamine Inhibits Glycine Utilisation and Disrupts Virulence in Pseudomonas aeruginosa [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2021
Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a major opportunistic human pathogen which employs a myriad of virulence factors. In people with cystic fibrosis (CF) P. aeruginosa frequently colonises the lungs and becomes a chronic infection that evolves to become less ...

SERS Spectral Bands of L-Cysteine, Cysteamine and Homocysteine fitted by Tsallis q-Gaussian functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Tsallis q-Gaussian functions are probability distributions possessing a shape which can be stretched from a Lorentzian to a Gaussian profile, according to the q-index parameter of their generalized exponentials.

The cytotoxic effect of cysteamine and its combinations with various endodontic intracanal medications on fibroblast cells: in vitro study

open access: yesBulletin of the National Research Centre, 2023
Background This study was established to assess cysteamine’s cytotoxic effect alone and in combination with various intracanal medications on fibroblast cells, because the biocompatibility of intracanal medication is considered one of the main factors ...

Mechanisms for the Cytotoxicity of Cysteamine [PDF]

open access: yesToxicological Sciences, 2001
The major aim of this study was to quantitatively assess the contribution of H2O2 generation to the cytotoxicity induced by cysteamine. Cysteamine produces H2O2 at levels that correlate with its toxicity between 23 and 160 microM. A maximum of 6.9 microM H2O2 is generated by 625 microM cysteamine.

Rotational spectroscopic study of cysteamine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Cysteamine (NH2CH2CH2SH) is a molecule that is potentially of interest to astrobiology, but it has not yet been detected in the interstellar medium. Its rotational spectrum was investigated in the 18-40 GHz frequency region and two conformers and their ...

Cysteamine Decreases Low‐Density Lipoprotein Oxidation, Causes Regression of Atherosclerosis, and Improves Liver and Muscle Function in Low‐Density Lipoprotein Receptor–Deficient Mice

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2021
Background We have shown previously that low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) can be oxidized in the lysosomes of macrophages, that this oxidation can be inhibited by cysteamine, an antioxidant that accumulates in lysosomes, and that this drug decreases ...

Impact of Dietary Supplementation of Cysteamine on Egg Taurine Deposition, Egg Quality, Production Performance and Ovary Development in Laying Hens

open access: yesAnimals, 2023
This study aimed to examine the effect of dietary cysteamine on yolk taurine content in hens during different egg production periods. In Exp. 1, China Agricultural University-3 (CAU-3) hens at the peak stage of egg production (aged 31 wks) were used to ...
