Genome‐Wide In Silico Analysis of the Type VI Secretion System (T6SS) Within the Morganella Genus
▪ Species‐specific T6SS patterns among Morganella genus (M. morganii and M. sibonii). ▪ Only one‐third of M. morganii isolates haboured a T6SS. ▪ All M. sibonii possess four T6SS clusters. ▪ M. sibonii exhibited a wide diversity of effectors compared to M. morganii.

Fermentation, enzymatic hydrolysis, and enzymatic crosslinking are emerging pre‐treatments to improve the sensory properties of extruded plant‐based meat alternatives. This review critically examines current literature to identify underlying mechanisms, benefits, and key research gaps associated with these pre‐treatments.

A Synthetic Study and Preliminary Evaluation of a Protease-Activated Doxazolidine Prodrug [PDF]
Described are studies focused on prodrug delivery of a doxorubicin-formaldehyde conjugate, doxazolidine (Doxaz). Designed for targeted activation by the serine protease plasmin, Protease-Activated Doxazolidine (PAD) embodies a new approach to selective ...

Collagen processing and cuticle formation is catalysed by the astacin metalloprotease DPY-31 in free-living and parasitic nematodes [PDF]
The exoskeleton or cuticle performs many key roles in the development and survival of all nematodes. This structure is predominantly collagenous in nature and requires numerous enzymes to properly fold, modify, process and cross-link these essential ...

Abstract Polyploidization has played a key role in plant genome evolution. Eragrostis curvula (Schrad.) Ness, a perennial forage grass species of the Poaceae family, is an excellent model for investigating genome duplication due to its natural variation in ploidy levels.

Proteases of haematophagous arthropod vectors are involved in blood-feeding, yolk formation and immunity : a review [PDF]
Ticks, triatomines, mosquitoes and sand flies comprise a large number of haematophagous arthropods considered vectors of human infectious diseases. While consuming blood to obtain the nutrients necessary to carry on life functions, these insects can ...

Abstract This study evaluated the incorporation of epigallocatechin‐3‐gallate (EGCG)‐loaded poly(lactide‐co‐glycolide) (PLGA) microparticles into a two‐step etch‐and‐rinse adhesive and their effects on physicochemical properties and EGCG release. EGCG was added to Single Bond 2 either directly (0.01% and 0.1% w/w) or encapsulated in PLGA 50:50 or 75:25
