Nitrosyl heme emerges as an extracellular nitrodilator that dilates arteries without crossing the cell membrane. Instead, heme‐NO mobilizes NO moieties from a preformed intracellular NO store within vascular smooth muscle, providing both functional and chemical evidence for the NANOS model, revealing a previously unrecognized mechanism of arterial ...

Fighting time: A qualitative analysis on the impact of lung transplantation in adults with Cystic Fibrosis [PDF]
During the last decade lung transplantation has become an option for those with end-stage respiratory disease, including Cystic Fibrosis. However, there appears to have been very little written about the experiences of those who are on the lung ...

Surfactant protein a in cystic fibrosis: supratrimeric structure and pulmonary outcome. [PDF]
The state of oligomerization of surfactant associated protein-A (SP-A) monomers differs between individuals. This likely affects SP-A's functional properties and could thereby influence clinical status in patients with lung diseases.

Ultrasound‐Actuated Gene Editing in Human Kidney Organoids
Peptide‐stabilized nanoemulsions enable spatially controlled, ultrasound‐triggered delivery of gene‐editing proteins deep within human kidney organoid tissues. Focused acoustic pulses drive droplet vaporization, propelling cargo into target renal cells while preserving native tissue microarchitecture. This non‐viral platform improves both the depth and

This study elucidates that β‐elemene promotes cellular uptake of L. gasseri‐derived lactate by enhancing the membrane translocation of MCT1 in a CD147‐dependent manner. Intracellular lactate, through the lactylation of RBBP4 at the K26 site, recruits EP300 to the promoter regions of downstream genes (POLD1/POLD3), catalyzing H3K27ac modification.

In the 1930s, when cystic fibrosis (CF) was first clearly recognised, it was a disorder that inevitably led to death in early childhood from respiratory failure and malnutrition.

The natural course of cystic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours in MEN1
Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (PanNETs) significantly impact life expectancy in multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1). Both solid and cystic pancreatic lesions are observed in MEN1, yet limited research has been focused on cystic lesions in MEN1.
