Application of docking method to assess the activity of hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria (HCB) from marine origin in bioremediation process

open access: yesSqualen, 2010
Hydrocarbons are one of the main sources of acute and chronic stressors in marine environmentthat are potentially damaging the ecosystem if not properly overcame.

Characterization of Shewanella oneidensis MtrC: a cell-surface decaheme cytochrome involved in respiratory electron transport to extracellular electron acceptors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
MtrC is a decaheme c-type cytochrome associated with the outer cell membrane of Fe(III)-respiring species of the Shewanella genus. It is proposed to play a role in anaerobic respiration by mediating electron transfer to extracellular mineral oxides that ...

Proteomic analysis reveals large amounts of decomposition enzymes and major metabolic pathways involved in algicidal process of Trametes versicolor F21a

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
A recent algicidal mode indicates that fungal mycelia can wrap and eliminate almost all co-cultivated algal cells within a short time span. However, the underlying molecular mechanism is rarely understood. We applied proteomic analysis to investigate the

Cytochrome c Peroxidase, a Mitochondrial Enzyme of Yeast

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1966
Abstract The intracellular distribution of cytochrome c peroxidase was studied in aerobically grown Saccharomyces carlsbergensis. Most of the cytochrome c peroxidase present in the yeast cells was found to be associated with well preserved mitochondria. This enzyme is readily released from mitochondria upon disruption of their structures.

Oxidative protein biogenesis and redox regulation in the mitochondrial intermembrane space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Mitochondria are organelles that play a central role in cellular metabolism, as they are responsible for processes such as iron/sulfur cluster biogenesis, respiration and apoptosis.
