Drug interaction of boceprevir and amlodipine in a patient with hepatitis C: A cardiovascular follow-up [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, 2015
Boceprevir is a NS3/4A hepatitis C virus (HCV) protease inhibitor, used in combination with peginterferon and ribavirin to treat HCV. Boceprevir undergoes extensive metabolism via cytochrome P450-mediated oxidation and ketoreduction by cytosolic aldo ...

The cryoEM structure of cytochrome bd from C. glutamicum provides novel insights into structural properties of actinobacterial terminal oxidases

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2023
Cytochromes bd are essential for microaerobic respiration of many prokaryotes including a number of human pathogens. These enzymes catalyze the reduction of molecular oxygen to water using quinols as electron donors.

Comparison of insect and human cytochrome b561 proteins: Insights into candidate ferric reductases in insects.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
Cytochrome b561 (cytb561) proteins comprise a family of transmembrane oxidoreductases that transfer single electrons across a membrane. Most eukaryotic species, including insects, possess multiple cytb561 homologs. To learn more about this protein family

Methemoglobin Reductase (Cytochrome b5 Reductase) Deficiency in Congenital Methemoglobinemia [PDF]

open access: yesBlood, 1974
Abstract Two NADH diaphorases, diaphorase I and II, were isolated from normal red cells and congenital methemoglobinemic red cells by CM-cellulose and DE 32 column chromatography. For methemoglobinemic sample, activities of diaphorase I and diaphorase II were 80% and less than 5% of those for the normal red cells, respectively.

Resolution of Key Roles for the Distal Pocket Histidine in Cytochrome c Nitrite Reductases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Cytochrome c nitrite reductases perform a key step in the biogeochemical N-cycle by catalyzing the six-electron reduction of nitrite to ammonium. These multi-heme cytochromes contain a number of His/His ligated c-hemes for electron transfer and a ...
