Screening of flavonoid aglycons’ metabolism mediated by the human liver cytochromes P450
Biological effects of flavonoids have been extensively studied in the last 80 years. As flavonoids represent a rather large group of compounds, data on metabolic biotransformations of these compounds is relatively limited to those well studied.

Engineered Hydrogels for Organoid Models of Human Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is characterized by lipid accumulation and extracellular matrix stiffening. An in vitro NAFLD model is developed using engineered hydrogels (G′ ≈ 1–6 kPa) and iPSC‐derived hepatic organoids. It is demonstrated that higher stiffness can increase lipid droplet accumulation, fibrosis, and metabolic dysregulation ...

Prediction of Cytochrome P450-Mediated Metabolism Using a Combination of QSAR Derived Reactivity and Induced Fit Docking [PDF]
Prediction of metabolism in cytochrome P450s remains to be a crucial yet challenging topic in discovering and designing drugs, agrochemicals and nutritional supplements. The problem is challenging because the rate of P450 metabolism depends upon both the intrinsic chemical reactivity of the site and the protein-ligand geometry that is energetically ...

Here a transcranial photo‐biomodulation approach is developed using near‐infrared (NIR) laser on hippocampus of mice, revealing significant improvements in learning and memory ability of mice under normal and disease conditions. The improvement results from the high‐density cell‐induced NIR local energy deposition, neuronal activation, and axonogenesis

LRRC4 deficiency disrupts the metabolic homeostasis of mitochondrial aerobic respiration and glycolysis during GC differentiation by inhibiting the ubiquitination‐mediated degradation of YAP, which ultimately leads to POI. These findings reveal the novel molecular etiology of POI and provide a promising target for prevention and treatment.
