Evaluation of the accuracy of hTERT gene aberrant methylation using electrochemical hybridization assay and liquid‐based cytology in screening for oral squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesElectroanalysis, Volume 35, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
Abstract In order to improve the survival rate of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) patients, a reliable diagnostic method for early OSCC detection is required that is minimally invasive, less burdensome to the patient, and has high sensitivity and specificity.

Rapid vision improvement by using icotinib in a patient with bilateral choroidal metastases symmetrically from lung cancer

open access: yesThe Clinical Respiratory Journal, Volume 17, Issue 7, Page 647-653, July 2023., 2023
A man presented with vision losing as an initial presentation and ophthalmofundoscopy with PET/CT confirmed the bilateral choroidal metastases from lung cancer. His visions were rapidly improved after 5 days of icotinib treatment with progression‐free survival for up to 17 months.

Popular epistemically unwarranted beliefs inventory (PEUBI): A psychometric instrument for assessing paranormal, pseudoscientific and conspiracy beliefs

open access: yesApplied Cognitive Psychology, Volume 36, Issue 6, Page 1260-1276, November/December 2022., 2022
Abstract Studying epistemically unwarranted beliefs (EUB) is relevant at basic, applied, and social levels. However, EUB scales validated in Spain are scare. Consequently, we aimed to develop and validate a scale of this kind. One thousand four hundred and sixty participants answered to a preliminary version of the questionnaire.

Cytologic diagnosis of parotid gland Warthin tumor: Systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesHead &Neck, Volume 44, Issue 10, Page 2277-2287, October 2022., 2022
Abstract It is important to define the accuracy of fine‐needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) in the diagnosis of Warthin tumor (WT). This systematic review and meta‐analysis evaluated the accuracy of FNAC in the diagnosis of WT in the parotid gland and WT growth rate.

A case of simultaneous diagnosis of tunica vaginalis testis and pleural mesothelioma

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 10, Issue 4, April 2022., 2022
Malignant pleural mesothelioma is one of the most severe diseases with a poor prognosis. Pulmonologists often make diagnoses of pleural mesothelioma with a history of asbestos exposure. It mainly involves the pleura, but can arise in other places, such as the tunica vaginalis testis.

Primary diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma of the central nervous system with rapidly progressing lesions after dimethyl fumarate treatment, showing relapsing and remitting symptoms: A case report

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Neuroimmunology, Volume 13, Issue 1, Page 60-65, February 2022., 2022
Pathological findings for the right basal ganglia lesion, based on immunostaining with (A) hematoxylin‐eosin, (B) anti‐CD3, (C) anti‐CD20, and (D) anti‐CD5. Abstract Background We present a case of B‐cell type primary central nervous system lymphoma that rapidly progressed after dimethyl fumarate (DMF) administration.

[Retracted] Value of Artificial Neural Network Ultrasound in Improving Breast Cancer Diagnosis

open access: yesComputational Intelligence and Neuroscience, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Ultrasound‐guided needle biopsy based on artificial neural network, as a safe, effective, and simple preoperative pathological diagnosis technique, has been widely used in clinical practice. Ultrasound‐guided needle biopsy based on artificial neural networks for suspicious breast lesions found in conventional ultrasound examinations is an effective ...

Clinico‐cytopathologic analysis of 574 Pericardial Effusion Specimens: Application of the international system for reporting serous fluid cytopathology (ISRSFC) and long‐term clinical follow‐up

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 10, Issue 24, Page 8899-8908, December 2021., 2021
Our study report the long‐term outcomes of patients with malignant pericardial effusion. In addition, most common malignant pericardial effusion was lung cancer and gastric cancer showed the poorest survival prognosis after the occurrence of malignant pericardial effusion.

Chromosomal analyses of human giant diploid oocytes by next‐generation sequencing

open access: yesReproductive Medicine and Biology, Volume 20, Issue 3, Page 260-266, July 2021., 2021
Abstract Purpose Although giant oocytes (GOs) having about twice cytoplasmic volume compared with general oocytes in mammals including the human are rarely recovered, it is thought that GOs have potentially chromosomal abnormalities. The aim of the present study was to assess chromosome numbers in chromosome‐spindle complexes (CSCs) and polar bodies of
