The repair and regeneration of brain tissue faces both biological and technical challenges. Injectable bioscaffolds offer new opportunities to stimulate tissue regrowth in the brain by recruiting neural stem cells. Here, the translational issues are reviewed that need to be address to advance this promising new therapeutic approach from the bench to ...

Decellularized liver extracellular matrix scaffolds provide a platform to study dormant liver‐metastatic colorectal cancer. They induce reversible dormancy, in combination with nutrient depletion and low dose chemotherapy, through cell cycle arrest and chemotherapy resistance.

Replicating aging and senescence‐related pathophysiological responses in kidney organoids remains a significant challenge. Human adult renal tubular organoid, tubuloids, are successfully developed recapitulating cellular senescence that is the central pathophysiological mechanism of chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Regulation of endosomal cytokine signaling in liver physiology [PDF]
The ESCRT complex plays a key role in the degradation of receptors, contributing to the control of signal transduction. The core component of ESCRT-I, Tsg101, was downregulated in NASH patients. Through LNP-induced hepatocyte-specific KD of Tsg101, severe liver inflammation was observed leading to animal lethality 8 days after injection.

Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...
