Spontaneous physical activity down-regulates Pax7 in cancer cachexia [PDF]
Emerging evidence suggests that the muscle microenvironment plays a prominent role in cancer cachexia. We recently showed that NF-kB - induced Pax7 overexpression impairs the myogenic potential of muscle precursors in cachectic mice, suggesting that ...

Fractalkine regulation of microglial physiology and consequences on the brain and behavior
Neural circuits are constantly monitored and supported by the surrounding microglial cells, using finely tuned mechanisms which include both direct contact and release of soluble factors.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Synthesis of cytokines during physiological pregnancy
The article is devoted to the study of the level of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines in women with a physiological pregnancy, which is of great importance in obstetrics. Studying the synthesis of cytokines makes it possible to identify disturbances in the course of pregnancy, which is of great practical importance.

Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Natural killer cells in placentation and cancer: Implications for hypertension during pregnancy [PDF]
Hypertension during pregnancy is the most common medical condition encountered during gestation. Despite this, knowledge of the mechanisms that underlie the disease and the development of new therapies are limited.

Adipose Tissue Inflammation and Metabolic Dysfunction in Obesity.
Several lines of preclinical and clinical research have confirmed that chronic low-grade inflammation of adipose tissue is mechanistically linked to metabolic disease and organ tissue complications in the overweight and obese organism.

Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.
