A5 cytoplasm: way to three way forage pearl millet hybrids

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2021
In the present study, two CMS lines viz., ICMA 03333 and ICMA 01777 based on A5 cytoplasm were used. These A5 lines were crossed with maintainers of different cytoplasmic sources during kharif 2016.

Spatial mapping reveals multi-step pattern of wound healing in Physarum polycephalum

open access: yes, 2017
Wounding is a severe impairment of function, especially for an exposed organism like the network-forming true slime mould Physarum polycephalum. The tubular network making up the organism's body plan is entirely interconnected and shares a common ...

Remaining Mysteries of the Cytoplasm

open access: yesMolecular Biology of the Cell, 2010
Nothing epitomizes the mystery of life more than the spatial organization and dynamics of the cytoplasm. How can a bunch of molecules, no matter how sophisticated, generate spatially complex behavior on a scale that is much larger than the molecules themselves?

EMT‐associated bias in the Parsortix® system observed with pancreatic cancer cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Parsortix® system was tested for CTC enrichment using pancreatic cancer cell lines with different EMT phenotypes. Spike‐in experiments showed lower recovery of mesenchymal‐like cells. This was confirmed with an EMT‐inducible breast cancer cell line.

Effects of Urethan on Fish Epithelial and Fibroblast Cells in Vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
The effects of urethan on RTG-2 and FHM cells were studied in vitro, by using the mitotic index, it was determined that 0.3 percent urethan caused an increase in the rate of cell division while higher concentrations (0.6, 0.9, 1.2, and 1.5 percent ...

Cytomegalovirus infection is common in prostate cancer and antiviral therapies inhibit progression in disease models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Human cytomegalovirus infection is common in normal prostate epithelium, prostate tumor tissue, and prostate cancer cell lines. CMV promotes cell survival, proliferation, and androgen receptor signaling. Anti‐CMV pharmaceutical compounds in clinical use inhibited cell expansion in prostate cancer models in vitro and in vivo, motivating investigation ...
