The Human SLC25A33 and SLC25A36 Genes of Solute Carrier Family 25 Encode Two Mitochondrial Pyrimidine Nucleotide Transporters [PDF]
The human genome encodes 53 members of the solute carrier family 25 (SLC25), also called the mitochondrial carrier family, many of which have been shown to transport inorganic anions, amino acids, carboxylates, nucleotides, and coenzymes across the inner

This work presents a “tooth‐on‐chip” device that mimics dental pulp tissue. By co‐culturing key cell types, it recreates vascular networks, stem cell niches, the odontoblast/dentine interface, and trigeminal innervation. This innovative platform provides a unique model of dental pulp structure and physiology, with significant potential for accelerating

Cytosine Methylation: Quantitation by Automated Genomic Sequencing and GENESCANTM Analysis
Bisulfite treatment and PCR amplification of genomic DNA permits the methylation analysis of any cytosine residue in a target sequence. By cloning and sequencing the PCR product, the methylation of individual molecules can be determined, whereas direct ...

Non-Empirically Tuned Range-Separated DFT Accurately Predicts Both Fundamental and Excitation Gaps in DNA and RNA Nucleobases [PDF]
Using a non-empirically tuned range-separated DFT approach, we study both the quasiparticle properties (HOMO-LUMO fundamental gaps) and excitation energies of DNA and RNA nucleobases (adenine, thymine, cytosine, guanine, and uracil).

TET2 inhibits differentiation of embryonic stem cells but does not overcome methylation-induced gene silencing [PDF]
TET2 is a methylcytosine dioxygenase that is frequently mutated in myeloid malignancies, notably myelodysplasia and acute myeloid leukemia. TET2 catalyses the conversion of 5′-methylcytosine to 5′-hydroxymethylcytosine within DNA and has been implicated ...

REMPI spectroscopy of cytosine [PDF]
We report resonant two-photon ionization spectra of laser desorbed, jet cooled, cytosine, 1-methyl cytosine, 5-methyl cytosine, and dimers of these. Unlike other pyrimidine bases, cytosine exhibits vibronic spectra with sharp features in two spectral regions, separated by about 5000 cm 1 .
