L1CAM‐AS1 is identified as a novel H3K36me3‐guided, m6A‐modified long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. L1CAM‐AS1 stabilizes RAN protein, enhances M2 macrophages‐released CCL5‐induced nuclear import of RELA, activates the NF‐κB signaling, up‐regulates CCL2 expression and secretion from HCC cells, and enhances M2 ...

Diffusion and interaction dynamics of the cytosolic peroxisomal import receptor PEX5
Cellular functions rely on proper actions of organelles such as peroxisomes. These organelles rely on the import of proteins from the cytosol. The peroxisomal import receptor PEX5 takes up target proteins in the cytosol and transports them to the ...

Nanoscale Curvature Regulates YAP/TAZ Nuclear Localization Through Nuclear Deformation and Rupture
This study uses experiments and biophysical modeling to examine the response and adaptation of cells to nanoscale topography of surfaces. It is shown that cytoskeletal assembly and nuclear localization of transcription regulatory factors such as yes‐associated protein (YAP) and transcriptional coactivator with PDZ‐binding motif (TAZ) can be tuned by ...

Designing Tunable DNA Condensates to Control Membrane Budding Transformation in Synthetic Cells
In giant unilamellar vesicles (GUVs), membrane wetting of encapsulated liquid‐liquid phase‐separated DNA condensates can be precisely triggered post‐fabrication using photoactivatable DNA‐lipid linkers. On free‐standing membranes, interactions between DNA condensates and the membrane lead to outward budding, resembling exocytosis.

A quest for cytosolic sequons and their functions
AbstractEvolution shapes protein sequences for their functions. Here, we studied the moonlighting functions of the N-linked sequon NXS/T, where X is not P, in human nucleocytosolic proteins. By comparing membrane and secreted proteins in which sequons are well known for N-glycosylation, we discovered that cyto-sequons can participate in nucleic acid ...

Eosinophils play a crucial role in the progression of temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis (TMJOA). This study demonstrates that eosinophils, induced by OVA/IL‐5, promote Lumican secretion in the synovium, which binds to Annexin A1 in chondrocytes, inhibiting transforming growth factor β2 and Smad2/3 phosphorylation.
