Targeting of the prion protein to the cytosol: mechanisms and consequences
Prion diseases are characterized by the conformational transition of the cellular prion protein (PrPC) into an aberrant protein conformer, designated scrapie-prion protein (PrPSc).

Vertical Nanostructures as Novel Interfaces for Brain Research
This review highlights the unique features of vertical nanostructures (nanoneedles, nanostraws, nanopillars, and nanowires) for applications in brain research. Various characteristics of nanostructures, including material selection, fabrication methodology, and geometric designs, are discussed for their specific use in neurite guidance, neuron pinning,

The interface between a conjugated polymer and phosphate buffer saline is modeled by employing multiphysics kinetic Monte Carlo simulation. Results demonstrate that the Marcus Gerischer theory is inadequate, and particle‐based simulation with molecular Marcus theory is required for accurate modeling.

Live Quantitative Characterization for Stem Cell Biomechanics
These findings demonstrate an accessible technique for real‐time, high‐resolution mechanical mapping of live stem cells, without the use of specialised probes or advanced modelling techniques. This approach provides direct insight into localised cytoskeletal dynamics under chemical treatment and holds potential for broader application in understanding ...

The SNARE machinery is involved in apical plasma membrane trafficking in MDCK cells. [PDF]
We have investigated the controversial involvement of components of the SNARE (soluble N-ethyl maleimide-sensitive factor [NSF] attachment protein [SNAP] receptor) machinery in membrane traffic to the apical plasma membrane of polarized epithelial (MDCK)

Cyclodextrin nanoparticle containing both Ga(NO3)3 and GaPP is synthesized and tested against non‐tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM). The in vivo efficacy of the nanoparticle therapy is additionally tested by treating pulmonary NTM infections in mice and observed much greater effectiveness in bacterial clearance and survival of mice.
