DNTTIP1 drives leukaemogenesis through MiDAC‐mediated epigenetic silencing of BMF
DNTTIP1 cooperates with SP1 to recruit HDAC1/2, leading to BMF silencing and reduced competitive binding of BMF to BCL2.This suppresses autophagy and apoptosis, promoting leukaemic cell survival. Targeting the DNTTIP1‐HDAC1/2‐BMF axis reactivates BMF and induces anti‐leukaemic effects.

Downregulation of Tumor Necrosis Factor Expression in the Human Mono-Mac-6 Cell Line [PDF]
Mono-Mac-6 cells, but not U937 cells, can be Induced to rapidly express tumor necrosis factor (TNF) mRNA and protein when triggered with Ilpopolysaccharlde (LPS) at 1 pg/mI. Preincubatlon of the cells for 3 d with low amounts of LPS (10 ng/mI) results In

Determining Preclinical Safety of Aclarubicin in Pediatric Malignancies
ABSTRACT Background Anthracyclines are among the most effective chemotherapeutic agents used to treat pediatric malignancies. However, their clinical use is limited by dose‐dependent toxicities, particularly cardiotoxicity and secondary malignancies.

Unrestrained Cdc42 activity causes failure of cytotoxic function of old NK cells. This is associated with disruption of microtubular network and impaired mitochondrial ATP resulting in reduced conjugation and impaired degranulation of lytic vesicles.

Histone deacetylase 2 is phosphorylated, ubiquitinated, and degraded by cigarette smoke [PDF]
Cigarette smoke (CS)–induced lung inflammation involves the reduction of histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) abundance, which is associated with steroid resistance in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and in individuals with severe asthma who

We identified a novel mechanism of resistance to histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACi) in cutaneous T‐cell lymphoma (CTCL), mediated by NF‐κB activation. This finding highlights NF‐κB as a potential therapeutic target for overcoming HDACi resistance in CTCL.

Immunocytochemical Phenotyping of Disseminated Tumor Cells in Bone Marrow by uPA Receptor and CK18: Investigation of Sensitivity and Specificity of an Immunogold/Alkaline Phosphatase Double Staining Protocol [PDF]
Phenotyping of cytokeratin (CK) 18-positive cells in bone marrow is gaining increasing importance for future prognostic screening of carcinoma patients. Urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPA-R) is one example of a potential aggressive marker

Induced sputum is a reproducible method to assess airway inflammation in asthma
To evaluate the reproducibility of induced sputum analysis, and to estimate the sample size required to obtained reliable results, sputum was induced by hypertonic saline inhalation in 29 asthmatic subjects on two different days.
