The first isotopic evidence of Early Iron Age lead ore exploitation in the Silesian‐Krakow upland, Poland: a provenance study of Lusatian culture lead ornaments

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 67, Issue 3, Page 552-569, June 2025.
Abstract The Bronze and Early Iron Ages witnessed a significant increase in trade relations driven by the search for valuable metals. This paper presents new insights into the use of galena from the Silesia and Krakow Upland region in southern Poland, known as the ‘Olkusz ore deposits’, within the context of metal ores in prehistoric Europe.

Phosphoric Acid Versus Biogenic Mineralization of Hydroxyapatite and Carbonate Apatite in Relation to Infection‐Induced Urinary Stones: Physical, Chemical and Microbiological Aspects

open access: yesChemPlusChem, Volume 90, Issue 5, May 2025.
Phosphoric acid is used in various products like food, sweets, beers, and soft drinks. Higher phosphoric acid concentration in urine accelerates the formation of carbonate apatite and hydroxyapatite, which are key components of infection urinary stones, a negative effect. However, the amount of these solid phases is smaller, which is beneficial.

Elucidations of electronic and optical properties of the w‐ZnCh (Ch=O, S and Se) compounds: Insights from Ab‐initio calculations and spectroscopy measurements

open access: yesIET Optoelectronics, Volume 18, Issue 6, Page 188-218, December 2024.
The authors’ research study employs full‐potential (linearised) augmented plane wave (FP‐(L)APW) calculations alongside experimental techniques to elucidate the band structures, dielectric functions, and other significant optical parameters of w‐ZnO, w‐ZnS, and w‐ZnSe. The band gap values derived theoretically, 2.72 eV for w‐ZnO, 3.87 eV for w‐ZnS, and
