Influence of Rapid Thermal Annealing Temperature on Cu2BaSnSe4 (CBTSe) Thin Films Prepared by Hybrid Spin Coating and Thermal Evaporation

open access: yesphysica status solidi (RRL) – Rapid Research Letters, Volume 19, Issue 10, October 2025.
Cu2BaSnSe4 (CBTSe) thin films are fabricated via hybrid spin coating and thermal evaporation, followed by rapid thermal annealing at 525, 550, and 575 °C. Scanning electron microscope and photoluminescence analyses reveal that 575 °C provides optimal grain growth, surface uniformity, and optical emission compared to lower selenization temperatures ...

Tailoring a Back‐Contact Barrier for a Self‐Powered Broadband Kesterite Photodetector With Ultralow Dark Current Enabling Ultra‐Weak‐Light Detection

open access: yesCarbon Energy, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2025.
The introduction of a C60 back interface layer successfully tailors the back‐contact barrier and prevents reverse charge injection, resulting in a kesterite photodetector with an ultralow dark current density of 5.2 × 10−9 mA/cm2 and ultra‐weak‐light detection at levels as low as 25 pW/cm2, achieving excellent performance across the 300–1600 nm ...

Disentangling Carrier‐Transport and Interfacial Carrier‐Recombination by Mitigating Na Interstitials for 11.9% Efficient Cd‐Free Cu2ZnSnS4 Solar Cells

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 19, May 12, 2025.
A high‐efficiency Cd‐free CZTS solar cell of 11.9% efficiency is achieved by mitigating the charge‐compensation effect of Na interstitials in the CZTS absorber using device air annealing. The JSC and FF are significantly improved with enhanced electron mobility, hole density, and carrier collection efficiency in the depletion region.
