Measurements of the branching fractions for B(s)->D(s)πππ and Λb0->Λc+πππ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Branching fractions of the decays Hb→Hcπ-π+π- relative to Hb→Hcπ- are presented, where Hb (Hc) represents B̅ 0 (D+), B- (D0), B̅ s0 (Ds+), and Λb0 (Λc+). The measurements are performed with the LHCb detector using 35  pb-1 of data collected at √s=7  TeV.

Short-Term Prediction of Traffic Flow Based on the Comprehensive Cloud Model

open access: yesMathematics
Short-term traffic flow prediction plays a crucial role in transportation systems by describing the time evolution of traffic flow over short periods, such as seconds, minutes, or hours. It helps people make informed decisions about their routes to avoid

Serum Myonectin Levels Are Positively Associated With Physical Function and Lower Frailty‐Related Limitation in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

Looseness Identification of Transmission Tower Based on Inertial Measurement

open access: yesIEEE Access
Transmission towers play a critical role in power systems. In this study, we propose an innovative approach for the structural health monitoring of transmission towers with the aim of accurately identifying structural looseness and its location ...

A Novel Multi-Period Two-Sided Matching Method on Solving Long-Term Care Problem for Disabled Elders With Probabilistic Linguistic Information

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
China is facing an aging society, and more and more disabled elders need Long-Term Care(LTC) from care-givers. On the other hand, care-givers can obtain some income from providing their care services.

Comparative Evaluation of Hemodiafiltration, Hemoperfusion, and Standard Hemodialysis on Efficacy, Inflammatory Control, Dialysis Adequacy, and Safety in End‐Stage Renal Disease: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic micro‐inflammation in patients with end‐stage renal disease (ESRD) is a significant driver of cardiovascular complications and diminished quality of life. While standard hemodialysis (SHD) effectively manages small‐molecule clearance, its ability to remove medium‐to‐large uremic toxins—the primary catalysts of systemic ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
