Dynamics of revolving D-branes at short distances

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2020
We study the behavior of the effective potential between revolving Dp-branes at all ranges of the distance r, interpolating r » ls and r « ls (ls is the string length).

D4-branes wrapped on a spindle

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We construct supersymmetric solutions of D = 6 gauged supergravity, where is a two-dimensional orbifold known as a spindle. These uplift to solutions of massive type IIA supergravity using a general prescription, that we describe.

D-brane dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1996
I calculate the semiclassical phase shift ($ $), as function of impact parameter ($b$) and velocity ($v$), when one D-brane moves past another. From its low-velocity expansion I show that, for torroidal compactifications, the moduli space of two identical D-branes stays flat to all orders in $ ^\prime$.

Transgression of D-branes

open access: yesAdvances in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics, 2021
Closed strings can be seen either as one-dimensional objects in a target space or as points in the free loop space. Correspondingly, a B-field can be seen either as a connection on a gerbe over the target space, or as a connection on a line bundle over the loop space. Transgression establishes an equivalence between these two perspectives. Open strings

Hanany-Witten transition in quantum curves

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
It was known that the U(N )4 super Chern-Simons matrix model describing the worldvolume theory of D3-branes with two NS5-branes and two (1, k)5-branes in IIB brane configuration (dual to M2-branes after taking the T-duality and the M-theory lift ...

A note on the open string pair production of the D3/D1 system

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We here report a possibility of detecting the open string pair production from the system of a D3 brane, taken as our own (1 + 3)-dimensional world and carrying its worldvolume collinear electric and magnetic fluxes, and a nearby D-string, placed ...

Magnetically-enhanced open string pair production

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We consider the stringy interaction between two parallel stacks of D3 branes placed at a separation. Each stack of D3 branes in a similar fashion carry an electric flux and a magnetic flux with the two sharing no common field strength index.

(p − 1)-bracket for Dp-branes in large R-R field background

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
The volume-preserving diffeomorphism is a key feature that characterizes the large constant R-R (p − 1)-form field background in a Dp-brane theory. It represents a symmetry of the theory that preserves the volume of space.
