A Novel Data Reuse Method to Reduce Demand on Memory Bandwidth and Power Consumption For True Motion Estimation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Motion estimation (ME) is a kernel algorithm in many video applications. Full search integer ME (FSIME) can find the best result but it usually takes plenty of time. Traditionally, only intra-frame data reuse is considered for FSIME. In this paper, a new

Behavior and modeling of tessellated shear walls in a structural frame system

open access: yesResilient Cities and Structures, 2023
This paper studies the behavior of a reinforced concrete (RC) structural frame employing a tessellated structural-architectural (TeSA) shear wall as the lateral-load resisting element.

Absolute pose estimation using multiple forms of correspondences from RGB-D frames [PDF]

open access: yes2016 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), 2016
We describe a new approach to absolute pose estimation from noisy and outlier contaminated matching point sets for RGB-D sensors. We show that by integrating multiple forms of correspondence based on 2-D and 3-D points and surface normals gives more precise, accurate and robust pose estimates.

Performance of 2-D Frame Equipped With Base isolation System under Dynamic Loadings [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
Building responses have become a major concern in design research. Passive control techniques are implemented to improve structure efficiency. The present research aims to assess the efficiency of base isolation system for a 2D frame and to enhance the performance of structures that are subjected to seismic ground excitations and ground vibrations ...

When spectra of lattices of $z$-ideals are Stone-Čech compactifications [PDF]

open access: yesMathematica Bohemica, 2017
Let $X$ be a completely regular Hausdorff space and, as usual, let $C(X)$ denote the ring of real-valued continuous functions on $X$. The lattice of $z$-ideals of $C(X)$ has been shown by Martínez and Zenk (2005) to be a frame.

A FREQUENCY-DRIFT COMPENSATED CLOSED-FORM SOLUTION FOR STEREO RGB-D MAPPING [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2019
In this work, we present a frequency-drift compensated (Fd-C) closed-form solution for stereo RGB-D SLAM. The intrinsic parameters for each sensor are first obtained with a standard camera calibration process and the extrinsic orientation parameters ...

Occlusion Edge Detection in RGB-D Frames using Deep Convolutional Networks

open access: yesCoRR, 2014
Occlusion edges in images which correspond to range discontinuity in the scene from the point of view of the observer are an important prerequisite for many vision and mobile robot tasks. Although they can be extracted from range data however extracting them from images and videos would be extremely beneficial.
