Object-Level Semantic Map Construction for Dynamic Scenes

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Visual simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) is challenging in dynamic environments as moving objects can impair camera pose tracking and mapping.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Depth Estimation of Video Sequences With Perceptual Losses

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
3-D vision plays an important role in intelligent perception of robot, while it requires extra 3-D sensors. Depth estimation from monocular videos provides an alternative mechanism to recover the 3-D information. In this paper, we propose an unsupervised

Solid-State Pulsed Time-of-Flight 3-D Range Imaging Using CMOS SPAD Focal Plane Array Receiver and Block-Based Illumination Techniques

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2022
Full realization of a solid-state 3-D range imager based on the pulsed time-of-flight method is presented. The system uses block-based segmented illumination in the transmitter realized with a 16-element common anode laser diode bar.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

High-Frame-Rate 3-D Vector Flow Imaging in the Frequency Domain

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Ultrasound vector Doppler techniques for three-dimensional (3-D) blood velocity measurements are currently limited by low temporal resolution and high computational cost.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

From line to dots: an improved computerised rod and frame system for testing subjective visual vertical and horizontal

open access: yes, 2010
Background Perception of subjective visual vertical (SVV) and horizontal (SVH) has traditionally been measured by rotating a mechanical rod either with or without a frame present. The computerised rod and frame (CRAF) system has previously only been used
