UAV Path Optimization for Angle-Only Self-Localization and Target Tracking Based on the Bayesian Fisher Information Matrix

open access: yesSensors
In this paper, new path optimization algorithms are developed for uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) self-localization and target tracking, exploiting beacon (landmark) bearings and angle-of-arrival (AOA) measurements from a manoeuvring target. To account for

ESR1 methylation and ESR1 mutations in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and paired plasma‐cfDNA of advanced breast cancer patients: A feasibility proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...

Object Agreement in Palauan: Specificity, Humanness, Economy, and Optimality

open access: yes, 1995
Complex conditions on object agreement and preposition insertion in Palauan, conditioned by aspect, specificity, number, and humanness, are shown to follow from a modified version of Diesing's Mapping Hypothesis interacting with (ranked with respect to ...

Features in Optimality Theory: A Computational Model

open access: yes, 1999
This dissertation presents a computational model of Optimality Theory (OT) (Prince and Smolensky 1993). The model provides an efficient solution to the problem of candidate generation and evaluation, and is demonstrated for the realm of phonological ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

The Learnability of Optimality Theory: An Algorithm and Some Basic Complexity Results

open access: yes, 1995
If Optimality Theory (Prince & Smolensky 1991, 1993) is correct, Universal Grammar provides a set of universal constraints which are highly general, inherently conflicting, and consequently rampantly violated in the surface forms of languages. A language’

Estimation of Unknown Object Measures in a Chemical Weighing Design with Correlated Errors

open access: yesActa Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Oeconomica
In this paper, some problems that concern the determining of unknown measurements of objects in the model of a chemical balance weighing design are presented.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Sequences Converging to $D$-Optimal Designs of Experiments

open access: yesThe Annals of Statistics, 1973
Fedorov (Theory of Optimal Experiments (1972)) gives a sequence of designs converging to a $D$-optimal design. Several modifications of that sequence are given to improve the speed of convergence. The analogous sequence for estimating some of the parameters is shown to converge to a $D$-optimal design, whether or not all the parameters are estimable ...
