Flexible Chemiresistive Chitosan‐Glycerol Sensors on Laser‐Induced Graphene Electrodes for Room‐Temperature Ammonia Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 15, 7 August 2026.
Flexible Chitosan‐glycerol sensor integrated with porous laser‐induced graphene (LIG) electrodes enable room‐temperature chemiresistive detection of ammonia (NH3) and proof‐of‐concept detection of fish spoilage. ABSTRACT We report a metal‐free sensor platform combining laser induced graphene (LIG) electrodes with drop‐deposited, glycerol‐plasticized ...

AB2X4 spinel structures: similarity and differences between the centrosymmetric, Fd3m, and non‐centrosymmetric, F4132, space groups

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section B, Volume 82, Issue 3, Page 360-366, June 2026.
Both centrosymmetric, Fd3m, and non‐centrosymmetric, F4132, space groups cannot be distinguished in solving, refining and describing AB2X4 spinel structures in the harmonic approximation. They can be distinguished only by using the third‐order tensor approximation of anisotropic displacement parameters. Many compounds adopting the spinel AB2X4 structure

Sphingolipids in Emotional Well‐Being

open access: yesJournal of Neurochemistry, Volume 170, Issue 2, February 2026.
Sphingolipids are essential constituents of neuronal membranes and are increasingly recognized as contributors to the key behavioral manifestations associated with emotional well‐being. ABSTRACT Emotional well‐being is a multifactorial concept, which comprises not only life quality of human individuals, but also their mental and physical health.

Sequence Analysis and Expression of the Phosphoprotein (P) Gene of a less Virulent Newcastle Disease Virus (D58) Isolated from an Unvaccinated Village Chicken

open access: yesInternational Journal of Poultry Science, 2009
The P gene of a less virulent Newcastle disease virus isolated from unvaccinated village chicken was studied in detail. This D58 isolate had a coding sequence of 1188 nucleotides coding for 395 amino acids. The site for RNA editing for the evolution of the V and W proteins was found to be at positions 402 at the nucleotide and 134 at amino acid levels.

Facing the D‐Ilemma of Heat Resistance Parameters: From Pathogen Risk Assessment to Surrogate Selection Challenges in the Fruit Juice and Nectar Production

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Over the years, numerous D‐ and z‐values have been published in the scientific literature. While these values initially appear to be valid criteria for assessing and comparing the heat resistance of different microorganisms under the same conditions or the same microorganism under different conditions, this is not always the case.

Short‐Term Incubation Assay Effectively Indicates Potentially Available Nitrogen From Organic Residues

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Soil Science, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study examines the mineralization of nitrogen (N) in soil treated with anaerobic digestates and spent mushroom substrate. To this end, we used a laboratory aerobic incubation assay over 42 days to determine the maximum NO3−‐N concentration produced. The objective was to test the following organic residues as fertilizers: liquid and solid anaerobic

Synaptic Alterations in Familial Danish Dementia Knock‐In Rats

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue S1, December 2025.
Abstract Background Familial Danish Dementia (FDD) patients carry a heterozygous Itm2b mutation, which has been modeled in the FDD knock‐in (KI) rat to investigate synaptic alterations over time. Previous studies have shown increased basal synaptic transmission (BST) in young adult FDD‐KI rats; however, there is limited information regarding long‐term ...
