Background: The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between the accumulated training load parameters (i.e., acute (AWL), chronic (CWL), acute: chronic workload ratio (ACWR), training monotony (TM), and training strain (TS)) and sprint ...

Knee adduction moment and medial contact force - facts about their correlation during gait [PDF]
The external knee adduction moment is considered a surrogate measure for the medial tibiofemoral contact force and is commonly used to quantify the load reducing effect of orthopedic interventions. However, only limited and controversial data exist about

Match-to-match variations in external load measures during congested weeks in professional male soccer players [PDF]
This study made part of one curricular unit of Master in Sports Training at Escola Superior de Desporto e Lazer, Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, Portugal. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze within-week and within-match external load ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The application of rule-based knowledge to load forecasting of electrical power systems [PDF]
The thesis describes short-term load forecasting by an expert system approach based on knowledge engineering. Conventionally, short-term load prediction is based on mathematical models which either extract the mathematical properties in the time series ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Mobility data for reduced uncertainties in model-based WWTP design
Model-based design is an emerging tool for dealing with the uncertain dynamic loads entering wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). But our understanding about the load-driving population-dynamics is limited.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
