Errors in climate model daily precipitation and temperature output: time invariance and implications for bias correction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
When correcting for biases in general circulation model (GCM) output, for example when statistically downscaling for regional and local impacts studies, a common assumption is that the GCM biases can be characterized by comparing model simulations and ...

Technical note: : Differences in the diurnal pattern of soil respiration under adjacent Miscanthus ×giganteus and barley crops reveal potential flaws in accepted sampling strategies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
For convenience, measurements used to compare soil respiration (Rs) from different land uses, crops or management practices are often made between 09:00 and 16:00 UTC, convenience which is justified by an implicit assumption that Rs is largely controlled

Seasonal changes of maximum daily shrinkage reference equations for irrigation scheduling in olive trees: influence of fruit load [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Maximum daily shrinkage (MDS) is the parameter of daily cycle of trunk diameter most widely suggested in irrigation scheduling for several fruit trees.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Impact du changement climatique sur les températures journalières minimales et maximales et les précipitations de la région de Tanger (nord-ouest du Maroc) quantifié à partir d’une méthode de descente d’échelle statistique

open access: yesVertigO, 2014
A statistical downscaling model (ASD) was evaluated by simultaneously downscaling maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and precipitation in Tangier's region (North-Western Morocco).

Digital Multi-Day Max/Min/Current Air and Soil Temperatures Protocol [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The purpose of this resource is to record daily measurements of maximum, minimum, and current air and soil temperatures at a common site. One temperature probe is placed inside the instrument shelter while another is installed at a 10 cm depth in the ...

Discontinuous Daily Temperatures in the WATCH Forcing Datasets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The Water and Global Change (WATCH) forcing datasets have been created to support the use of hydrological and land surface models for the assessment of the water cycle within climate change studies.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Penentuan Koefisien Korelasi Kanonik Dan Interpretasi Fungsi Kanonik Multivariat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Canonical correlation analysis is a useful technique to identify and quantify the linier relationships, involving multiple independent and multiple dependent variable. It focuses on the correlation between a linier combination of the variables in one set
