Digital Multi-Day Soil Temperature Protocols - Introduction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The purpose of this resource is to introduct details on how to use digital soil thermometers. A digital thermometer is used to measure current temperatures as well as daily minimum and maximum temperatures. One temperature probe is placed at a depth of 5

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Spatial gridding of daily maximum and minimum temperatures in Europe [PDF]

open access: yesMeteorology and Atmospheric Physics, 2011
We developed an operationally applicable land-only daily high-resolution (5 km × 5 km) gridding method for station observations of minimum and maximum 2 m temperature (T min/T max) for Europe (WMO region VI). The method involves two major steps: (1) the generation of climatological T

Effects of post-fire logging on forest surface air temperatures in the Siskiyou Mountains, Oregon, USA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Following stand-replacing wildfire, post-fire (salvage) logging of fire-killed trees is a widely implemented management practice in many forest types. A common hypothesis is that removal of fire-killed trees increases surface temperatures due to loss of ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

The CLARIS LPB database: constructing a long-term daily hydro-meteorological dataset for La Plata Basin, Southern South America [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
CLARIS LPB database was built within the framework of the CLARIS LPB project “A Europe-South America Network for climate Change Assessment and Impact Studies in La Plata Basin” of the European Community's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Reconstruction of a long‐term historical daily maximum and minimum air temperature network dataset for Ireland (1831‐1968)

open access: yesGeoscience Data Journal, 2020
The extension of spatial and temporal coverage of digital daily maximum and minimum air temperature observations is indispensable for a greater understanding of past climate variability.

An empirical method for estimating probability density functions of gridded daily minimum and maximum temperature [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Science and Research, 2013
The presented work focuses on the investigation of gridded daily minimum (TN) and maximum (TX) temperature probability density functions (PDFs) with the intent of both characterising a region and detecting extreme values.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
