Milking reactivity influences daily yield and electrical resistance of milk in Jaffarabadi buffaloes.

open access: yesIranian journal of veterinary research
Buffalo reactivity during milking affects milking procedures, milk yield, and quality. This study evaluated the influence of milking reactivity on the yield, composition, somatic cell count, pH, and electrical resistance of milk in Jaffarabadi buffaloes.A 1-4 point scale, based on leg movement, was used to assess the milking reactivity of buffaloes (n ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Milking frequency effect on rumination daily profile of dairy cows [PDF]

open access: yesCiência Rural
: Rumination monitoring assesses dairy cows’ health, reproduction, and welfare status. The present study evaluated whether increasing the milking frequency affects dairy cows’ milk yield and daily rumination profile.

Evaluation of on-farm labour saving strategies for optimisation of herd size that could be managed by one operator [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
End of project reportAlternative milking frequencies Once a day (OAD) milking throughout lactation of a herd (over 2 years, incorporating 24% heifers) resulted in loss in milk solids (MS) production of 17% per cow.

Side preference of dairy cows in the milking parlour and its impact on daily milk yield

open access: yesVeterinarski glasnik, 2021
Monitoring of the side preference of dairy cows in the milking parlour was performed in a group of 40 dairy cows (Czech spotted cattle). Twenty milking sessions were evaluated for each cow, and the composition of the monitored group of cows was kept constant. A significant side preference was found in 26 (65%) cows.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Kinetics of fat and protein secretion in dairy cattle, sheep, goats and buffaloes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The negative correlations of fat and protein concentrations and milk yield, existing in all ruminants dairy species (Oftedal, 1984; Mepham, 1987), reflect a deep mechanism regulating the respective kinetics of secretion of carrier (mainly lactose which ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

The Association of Delayed Milk Ejection and Milk Production in Dairy Cows Milked by an Automated Milking System

open access: yesAnimals
This retrospective cohort study examined the association between delayed milk ejection (DME), defined as bimodal milk flow, and milk yield in dairy cows milked with an automated milking system (AMS).

Effects of lactation number, milk yield and milk composition on freezing point of milk of Polish Holstein-Friesian cows [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Central European Agriculture, 2018
The objective of the study was to assess the influence of lactation number, daily milk yield, somatic cell count and milk composition on the freezing point of milk of Polish Holstein-Friesian cows.
