Precipitation in Aberdeen, SD: data analysis approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The daily, monthly and annual sum of precipitation was analyzed for station Aberdeen-Airport, South Dakota (NOAA COOP #390020) with traditional normative statistical descriptions of precipitation variability and with methods of data analysis.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Systematical Evaluation of Three Gridded Daily Precipitation Products Against Rain Gauge Observations Over Central Asia

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2021
Understanding the precipitation variability and extreme precipitation over arid Central Asia (CA) has largely been hampered by the lack of daily precipitation observations. The gridded precipitation datasets over CA are large discrepancies.

Multiregional Satellite Precipitation Products Evaluation over Complex Terrain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
An extensive evaluation of nine global-scale high-resolution satellite-based rainfall (SBR) products is performed using a minimum of 6 years (within the period of 2000-13) of reference rainfall data derived from rain gauge networks in nine mountainous ...

The probability distribution of intense daily precipitation [PDF]

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2015
AbstractThe probability tail structure of over 22,000 weather stations globally is examined in order to identify the physically and mathematically consistent distribution type for modeling the probability of intense daily precipitation and extremes. Results indicate that when aggregating data annually, most locations are to be considered heavy tailed ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Intercomparison of daily precipitation persistence in multiple global observations and climate models

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2019
Daily precipitation persistence is affected by various atmospheric and land processes and provides complementary information to precipitation amount statistics for understanding the precipitation dynamics.

Validation of The Weather Generator CLIGEN with Season Precipitation Data in Tokat Province

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Agriculture: Food Science and Technology, 2019
In models that predict hydrologic, ecological and product-yield relationship, the climate interface file is widely used. Today, CLIGEN is the most widely used climate model.

Climatological Characteristics of Typical Daily Precipitation

open access: yesJournal of Climate, 2017
AbstractPrecipitation is often quantified by the amount that falls over a given period of time but not the rate at which most of it falls or the rate associated with the most frequent events. Here, three metrics are introduced to distill salient characteristics of typical daily precipitation accumulation based on the full distribution of rainfall: rain
