In-plane shear constitutive model for 2D-C/SiC composites

open access: yesJournal of Aeronautical Materials
In order to characterize in-plane shear behavior of 2D-C/SiC composites,a macroscopic cross-ply laminate model and a microscopic mini-composite model were proposed, considering damage mechanisms such as matrix cracking, interface debonding, and fiber ...

Experimental and Numerical Study on the Blast Performance of RC Shear Walls Under Uniaxial Compression

open access: yesBuildings
This study addresses a critical gap in blast-resistant design by investigating the influence of axial compression ratio—a previously underexplored parameter—on the dynamic response of reinforced concrete (RC) shear walls under close-in explosions.

On the influence of nucleation on the toughness of iPP/EPR blends with different rubber molecular architectures

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2008
The influence of α-and β-nucleating agents on the fracture performance of two different 32 wt% rubber modified isotactic Polypropylene (iPP) reactor blends is discussed as a function of the phase morphology of the investigated systems ...

Safety and Effectiveness of a High‐Dose, Tailored Tissue Plasminogen Activator Therapy Protocol: A Joint Pediatric Hematology and Cardiac ICU Quality Improvement Initiative Analysis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric thromboembolism is increasingly encountered in critical care. Systemic thrombolysis with tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) facilitates vessel or valve patency, yet pediatric‐specific protocols remain undefined, and safety concerns persist. Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a tailored, prolonged systemic tPA

Application of Damage Mechanics to the Analysis of Spall Damage.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series A, 1994
A systematic method of spall damage analysis was developed on the basis of damage mechanics. By use of a scalar damage variable, the damage evolution equation of Lemaitre et al. and the viscoplastic constitutive equation of Perzyna modified for damaged materials were incorporated into the commercial finite difference program MANJUSRI-3 D for nonlinear ...

Safety of Daprodustat for the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease Anemia: Final Analysis of a Multicenter Postmarketing Surveillance Study in Japan

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction This final analysis of a multicenter, prospective postmarketing surveillance study evaluated the safety of daprodustat in patients with chronic kidney disease anemia in routine clinical practice in Japan. Methods Patients who initiated daprodustat between September 2020 and July 2022 were registered.

Study on ESD Protection Circuit by TCAD Simulation and TLP Experiment

open access: yesMicromachines, 2023
The anti-ESD characteristic of the electronic system is paid more and more attention. Moreover, the on-chip electrostatic discharge (ESD) is necessary for integrated circuits to prevent ESD failures.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
