Stability investigation damaged ships
There are many areas in which naval vessels could improve safety standards, although naval vessels are not necessarily regarded as less secure than the civil vessels. Although the navies never have considered water on deck a problem, it seems that this problem has a critical value in the ship damage stability analysis. As an example, this damage should

Damages Caused To The Bulwarks Of Reefer Ships
To increase the efficiency of the fishing fleet is the most important task for the fishing industry. Its solution means the renewal of the fleet and the reduction of non-operating demurrage, when, most of the time, ship are under repair. I was decided at the State level that the reefer ships of the fishing fleet should be built and renovated in the ...

Multi‐Scaled Cellulosic Nanonetworks from Tunicates
Microbial and plant nanonetworks of cellulose have enabled a wide range of high‐performance yet sustainable materials. Herein, a third class of cellulosic nanonetworks is showcased by exploiting the only animal tissue‐producing cellulose nanofibers, i.e., ascidians. An ultrastructure including spherical cells and a microvasculature with diameters of 50–

Synthetic Strategy for mRNA Encapsulation and Gene Delivery with Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks
This research utilizes the ZIF‐8 for the encapsulation and intracellular delivery of nucleic acids, specifically mRNA, for applications in gene delivery. Integrating PEI addresses the issue of mRNA leakage from ZIF‐8, resulting in the delivery and expression of green fluorescent protein (GFP) in vitro and firefly luciferase in vivo.

On the calculation of the righting lever curve for a damaged ship
The current damage stability criteria for ships are mainly based on the characteristics of the righting lever curve. The related calculations for different intermediate stages during the flooding process, and for the final equilibrium condition, are generally considered trivial.

Developing Cathode Films for Practical All‐Solid‐State Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries
The development of all‐solid‐state lithium‐sulfur batteries offers higher specific energies and lower costs compared to state‐of‐the‐art Li‐ion batteries. However, a lack of mechanistic understanding hinders advancement. This review analyzes key electrode parameters, evaluates progress in enhancing ion/electron percolation, and addresses ...
