Influence of pH on the incidence of damping-off

Transactions of the British Mycological Society, 1958
Using Beta vulgaris, Brassica campestris, Picea sitchensis and Pinus contorta as hosts, Pythium ultimum as parasite, and a wide range of soil reactions, it is shown that change in incidence of damping-off with chnge in soil pH is strongly negatively correlated with change in growth rate of the host.
