Rampant hybridization in an old tropical fern genus ( Danaea , Marattiaceae)
Abstract The number of hybrids has been reported to be lower in tropical than temperate ferns, but patterns of hybridization are poorly known in the tropics. We examine hybridization in the Neotropical fern genus Danaea (Marattiaceae) using a phylogenomic approach with single or low‐copy nuclear and chloroplast loci and haplotype phasing.

Epidermal Morphology of the Pinnae of Angiopteris, Danaea, and Marattia [PDF]
This is a study of adult epidermis morphology in 17 species of Angiopteris Hoffm., Danaea J. E. Smith, and Marattia Swartz. Epidermal patterns, adult stomata, indument, and idioblasts were studied. Hill and Camus (1986) made an overview of characters of some extant species of Marattiales as part of a cladistic study of extant and fossil members of the ...

Stipular Bud Development in Danaea wendlandii (Marattiaceae)
It has long been known that large numbers of buds are produced around the leaf bases of sporophytes in the Marattiales (Gwynne-Vaughan, 1905), and extensive use has been made of this phenomenon in propagation of Angiopteris and Marattia (West, 1917). Danaea is a neotropical genus in the Marattiaceae comprising about 20 species, all of which are limited

On the Lectotypification of Danaea elliptica
Prior lectotypifications of Danaea elliptica are rejected because they did not take into account the one adequate specimen cited by the author of the species. This specimen is chosen here as lectotype, which enables the name D. elliptica to continue to be used in its usual sense. J. E. Smith in Rees (1808), in his treatment of Danaea, included D. alata
