MOHIST APPROACH TO THE RULE-FOLLOWING PROBLEM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The Mohist conceives the dao-following issue as how we can put dao in words and speeches into practice. The dao-following issue is the Mohist counterpart of Wittgenstein\u27s rule-following problem.

Discovery of the Host Cluster for the Fundamental Cepheid Calibrator Zeta Gem

open access: yes, 2012
New and existing CORAVEL, UBVJHKs, HST, HIP/Tycho, ARO, KPNO, and DAO observations imply that the fundamental Cepheid calibrator Zeta Gem is a cluster member. The following parameters were inferred for Zeta Gem from cluster membership and are tied to new

Bacteria and Fungi Synergistically Reprogram Flavonoid Metabolites in the Pericarp of Citrus Reticulata 'Chachi' During Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The authors employed widely targeted metabolomics, microbial amplicon sequencing, and fermentation assays to investigate the microbiome 's influence on PCRC 's (pericarp of Citrus reticulata ' Chachi ') flavonoid profile over 0–19 years of storage. Based on the correlation analysis, solid‐state and liquid‐state fermentation, and catalytic activity ...

El Niño and the delayed action oscillator [PDF]

open access: yes
We study the dynamics of the El Niño phenomenon using the mathematical model of delayedaction oscillator (DAO). Topics such as the influence of the annual cycle, global warming, stochastic influences due to weather conditions and even off-equatorial heat-

Mesoscale Recovery of Microglial and Neuronal Dynamics After Craniotomy Across Wide Cortex in Transgenic Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study employs longitudinal fluorescence imaging in transgenic mice to map post‐craniotomy cortical recovery. We identify distinct neuroimmune recovery phases: microglial structural inflammation peaks at ∼10 days, neuronal structural intensity peaks at ∼14 days and correlates with microglial activity, and functional network modularity is most ...

Listening to the Daoing in the Morning

open access: yesOpen Philosophy
This study explores the concept of multi-layered values and reconsiders the formation of the self (“I”) as fundamentally relational and dynamic (“i-ing”).

Critical analysis of the philosophical conception of verification of being/the self in Heidegger's “Being and Time” against dao/the other in Laozi's Daodejing. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
That dao and being are correct as written about by Laozi and Heidegger respectively is exposed through eight ...

GOT1 Inhibition Induces Extracellular Matrix Remodeling in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using tumor tissue engineering, we recreated pancreatic cancer and found that inhibiting glutamic‐oxaloacetic transaminase 1 (GOT1) induces extracellular matrix remodeling and secretome rewiring, as well as promotes cell death. ABSTRACT Pancreatic cancer cells rely on glutamine to sustain their survival in the stiff and poorly vascularized tumor ...

Modeling and Characterization of a Self‐Sensing Soft Hydraulic Muscle

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This article presents the self‐sensing soft hydraulic muscle (SSHM), a novel soft actuator capable of simultaneously sensing force and length without external sensors. A comprehensive model accurately predicts SSHM behavior, validated experimentally with minimal errors. Using propylene glycol enhances durability and reduces hysteresis.
