Variability in intracellular localization of D‐amino acid oxidase in choroid plexus epithelial cells

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
D‐amino acid oxidase (DAO) in choroid plexus epithelial cells (CPECs) shows vesicle‐like localization by histological and super‐resolution analyses. DAO colocalizes with peroxisomal, Golgi, endosomal, lysosomal, autophagosomal, and exosomal markers, indicating diverse subcellular distribution. This suggests DAO is transported within CPECs to metabolize

Long‐read sequencing‐based atlas of tissue‐specific expression of DNM1L transcript variants

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Targeted long‐read sequencing resolves full‐length DNM1L (Drp1) isoforms and reveals conserved, tissue‐specific expression patterns across human and mouse tissues. Functional assays show that Drp1 isoforms differ in their ability to drive mitochondrial fission, independent of abundance, with specific exons modulating activity.

Task engagement and comprehensibility development in video‐mediated intercultural exchanges: A longitudinal study

open access: yesForeign Language Annals, EarlyView.
Abstract Despite growing interest in task engagement, few studies have examined how it contributes to L2 development. This longitudinal study examined how task engagement related to gains in L2 Japanese comprehensibility among nine UK‐based university students participating in a semester‐long, video‐mediated eTandem exchange with Japanese partners ...

An iterated greedy‐based metaheuristic with local search for the rank pricing problem

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, EarlyView.
Abstract The rank pricing problem involves determining optimal prices for a set of products while accounting for customers' budgets and preferences. This study develops an iterated greedy‐based metaheuristic to efficiently solve this problem. The core idea is to generate a sequence of solutions by iteratively applying destruction and reconstruction ...

Coniferyl aldehyde from the phenylpropanoid pathway targets pyruvate kinase in Dactylobotrys graminicola to confer sheath rot resistance in hulless barley

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Hulless barley resists the newly identified sheath rot disease caused by the necrotrophic fungal pathogen Dactylobotrys graminicola by releasing coniferyl aldehyde, a natural compound that disrupts energy production in the fungus. ABSTRACT Dactylobotrys graminicola (Dgr), a necrotrophic fungal pathogen, has recently been identified as the causative ...
