Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Electrophysiological Studies on The Dynamics of Luminance Adaptation in the Mouse Retina
To date, most studies involving in vivo electroretinography in mice are performed on steady state adapted animals. In this study, we focused on the dynamics of adaptation to high and low light levels in the mouse retina. Two flash electroretinogram (ERG)

Aging and cone dark adaptation
Purpose. Following exposure to a bright light that bleaches a significant portion of photopigment, the eyes take several minutes to regain sensitivity.

Dark adaptation of the long-wavelength sensitive cones [PDF]
Long-wavelength sensitive (L) cone dark adaptation curves were measured with a 10-msec, 20' v.a., 650 nm test flash and a moderate intensity adapting field.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

The light-independent locomotion response to a static magnetic field in Xenopus tadpoles
Increasing numbers of behavioral observations have shown that many organisms can sense magnetic fields in the environment. However, the underlying mechanisms of magnetosensation remain elusive, and a major problem is the lack of an animal model ...

The effect of spatial luminance distribution on dark adaptation [PDF]
Recent studies show that dark adaptation in the visual system depends on local luminance levels surrounding the viewing direction. These studies, however, do not explain to what extent veiling luminance is responsible for the outcome.

Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.
