Observation of 1/f 4 Noise in Organic Bilayer Ambipolar FETs and Proposition of Defect Engineering Method for Ultimate Noise Control

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The low‐frequency noise in organic bilayer ambipolar transistors is investigated, revealing a unique 1/f⁴ noise from correlated trapping/detrapping and generation/recombination processes. Inserting a thin parylene layer between the n/p junction effectively reduces this excess noise, suggesting a practical approach to enhanced device reliability in ...

Implicit particle methods and their connection with variational data assimilation

open access: yes, 2012
The implicit particle filter is a sequential Monte Carlo method for data assimilation that guides the particles to the high-probability regions via a sequence of steps that includes minimizations.

A Reanalysis of Ocean Climate Using Simple Ocean Data Assimilation (SODA)

open access: yes, 2008
This paper describes the Simple Ocean Data Assimilation (SODA) reanalysis of ocean climate variability. In the assimilation, a model forecast produced by an ocean general circulation model with an average resolution of 0.25° 0.4° 40 levels is ...

Scalable and Integrated Photocatalytic Reactor Systems for Solar‐to‐Fuel Production: Photoredox and Photoreforming Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Solar fuels and other value‐added chemicals derived from light‐driven reactions are highly desirable. Although advanced photoactive materials have been reported, demonstrations of their feasibility in large‐scale production are needed. Hence, strategies and recent efforts in scaling up photocatalytic reactors and integrating them into comprehensive ...

Survey of data assimilation methods for convective‐scale numerical weather prediction at operational centres

open access: yes, 2018
Data assimilation (DA) methods for convective‐scale numerical weather prediction at operational centres are surveyed. The operational methods include variational methods (3D‐Var and 4D‐Var), ensemble methods (LETKF) and hybrids between variational and ...

The Quest for Model Uncertainty Quantification: A Hybrid Ensemble and Variational Data Assimilation Framework

open access: yesWater Resources Research, 2019
This article presents a novel approach to couple a deterministic four‐dimensional variational (4DVAR) assimilation method with the particle filter (PF) ensemble data assimilation system, to produce a robust approach for dual‐state‐parameter estimation ...

A Novel Ti12‐Based Metal‐Organic Framework for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
MIP‐209(Ti) is a new microporous MOF built up from Ti₁₂O₁₅ clusters and substituted terephthalate linkers, enabling isoreticular chemistry and clusters tunability for photocatalytic applications. Cr3⁺ doping (≤5 at%) on Ti‐oxoclusters drastically enhances water stability and boosts hydrogen production from water under simulated solar light irradiation.

Impact of the One-Stream Cloud Detection Method on the Assimilation of AMSU-A Data in GRAPES

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Clouds affect the assimilation of microwave data from satellites and therefore the detection of clouds is important under both clear sky and cloudy conditions.

Benefit from Biomass Boiler Emissions to Increase Greenhouse CO2 Levels for Optimal Growth and Yield in Tomato, Cucumber, and Strawberry

open access: yesAdvanced Energy and Sustainability Research, EarlyView.
Using CO2‐rich polluting gases in greenhouse plant cultivation has proven to be a promising technique for stimulating plants while reducing emissions to the atmosphere. The use of an experimental biofilter proves to be effective in retaining most of the toxic particles. The alteration of physiological and metabolic parameters shows an adaptation of the

Sensitivity And Out-Of-Sample Error in Continuous Time Data Assimilation

open access: yes, 2011
Data assimilation refers to the problem of finding trajectories of a prescribed dynamical model in such a way that the output of the model (usually some function of the model states) follows a given time series of observations.
