Comment on 'Comparative study of beta-decay data for eight nuclides measured at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt' [Astropart. Phys., 50, 47-58]

open access: yes, 2014
We would like to comment on a recent paper by Sturrock et al. [1] in which the authors analyze decay data acquired by an ionization chamber in our institute.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Discovery of Rubidium, Strontium, Molybdenum, and Rhodium Isotopes

open access: yes, 2011
Currently, thirty-one rubidium, thirty-five strontium, thirty-five molybdenum and thirty-eight rhodium isotopes have been observed and the discovery of these isotopes is discussed here. For each isotope a brief synopsis of the first refereed publication,

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

A data catalogue of alcohol dehydrogenases in the genome of a tissue macerating Pectobacterium brasiliense isolated from potato in South Africa

open access: yesData in Brief
Alcohol dehydrogenases (ADHs) catalyze the oxidation of alcohols and reduction of aldehydes and ketones. Primarily ADHs mitigate aldehydes and alcohol toxicity but they may also perform other functions. we listed all ADHs in the genome of strain BD163 of

Teen Births: Examining the Recent Increase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This research brief explores whether the data reflect a short-term blip or a true reversal in the decline of the U.S. teen birth rate. It also considers potential explanations for the uptick in teen births, and raises data and research gaps that must be ...

Discovery of the Isotopes with 11 <= Z <= 19

open access: yes, 2011
A total of 194 isotopes with 11 $\le$ Z $\le$ 19 have been identified to date. The discovery of these isotopes which includes the observation of unbound nuclei, is discussed.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
