Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Corrosion Behavior of Printed Circuit Boards in Tropical Marine Atmosphere

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2019
Outdoor exposure experiments of PCB-Cu, PCB-ImAg and PCB-ENIG were conducted in a tropical marine atmosphere under the synergistic effect of multiple factors, and the corresponding corrosion behavior of the PCBs was investigated by SEM, EDS and EIS.

All or nothing: this is the question? The application of article 3(2) Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC to the Internet [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter the “Directive”) was passed in 1995 to harmonise the national data protection laws within the European Community with the aim of protecting the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals including ...

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

The Effect of Corrosion Inhibitors on the Corrosion Behavior of Ductile Cast Iron

open access: yesMetals
Based on actual service environment parameters, this experiment investigated the change in the corrosion rate of nodular cast iron (DCI) in an environment containing organic (triethanolamine phosphate, PTEA) and inorganic (hexametaphosphate, SHMP ...
