Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

ICA-ASIFT-Based Multi-Temporal Matching of High-Resolution Remote Sensing Urban Images

open access: yesCybernetics and Information Technologies, 2016
While SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) features are used to match High-Resolution (HR) remote sensing urban images captured at different phases with large scale and view variations, feature points are few and the matching accuracy is low ...

Storing and Indexing Spatial Data in P2P Systems

open access: yes, 2009
The peer-to-peer (P2P) paradigm has become very popular for storing and sharing information in a totally decentralized manner. At first, research focused on P2P systems that host 1D data. Nowadays, the need for P2P applications with multidimensional data

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

National-scale 10-m maps of cropland use intensity in China during 2018–2023

open access: yesScientific Data
The amount of actively cultivated land in China is increasingly threatened by rapid urbanization and rural population aging. Quantifying the extent and changes of active cropland and cropping intensity is crucial to global food security.

Ecological data sharing

open access: yesEcological Informatics, 2015
AbstractData sharing is the practice of making data available for use by others. Ecologists are increasingly generating and sharing an immense volume of data. Such data may serve to augment existing data collections and can be used for synthesis efforts such as meta-analysis, for parameterizing models, and for verifying research results (i.e., study ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

A Health Assessment of Terrestrial Ecosystems in China Based on the Adaptive Indicator Reduction Method

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Assessing terrestrial ecosystem health in China is crucial for guiding national economic strategies and ecological conservation. To address the lack of a unified national evaluation system, this study integrates the Pressure–State–Response (PSR) and ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...
