Swarm Drones with QR Code Formation for Real-Time Vehicle Detection and Fusion Using Unreal Engine

open access: yesAutomation
A single drone collects data, but a fleet builds a complete picture, and this is the primary objective of this study. To address this goal, a swarm-based drone system has been designed in which multiple drones follow one another to collect data from ...

The Impact of Climate Change on a University Campus’ Energy Use: Use of Machine Learning and Building Characteristics

open access: yesBuildings, 2022
Global warming is expected to increase 1.5 °C between 2030 and 2052. This may lead to an increase in building energy consumption. With the changing climate, university campuses need to prepare to mitigate risks with building energy forecasting models ...

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Visualization of back pain data-A 3-D solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Traditional approaches to gathering and visualizing pain data rely on two-dimensional (2-D) human body models, where different types of sensation are recorded with various monochrome symbols.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Visualization of spectral images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Spectral image sensors provide images with a large number of contiguous spectral channels per pixel. Visualization of these huge data sets is not a straightforward issue. There are three principal ways in which spectral data can be presented; as spectra,

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.
