The interest for integrated DC-DC converters is greater than ever due to the increasing gap between the battery voltage and supply voltage levels required for state-of-the-art chip design. Moreover the multiple-voltage system design strategy, often applied for power optimization in large systems, also requires the generation of separate voltage levels.

A converter based on energy injection control for AC-AC, AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC conversion
2018 13th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2018Unlike the traditional converter, this paper analyses the feature of the converter based on energy injection control, which can achieve the AC-AC, AC-DC, DC-DC and DC-AC conversion. The detailed operations of the switches in energy injection mode and free oscillation mode are described.

The basic idea of converting DC into DC voltages has been studied in Section 1 Chapter 3. There also has been mentioned that to separate DC component a smoothing filter is connected between the output of the converter and the load. The filter consists of passive elements – inductances and capacitors, and in several cases it is included in the ...

Switched-capacitorized DC/DC converters
2009 4th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2009Switched capacitor DC/DC converters are new prototype of DC/DC conversion technology. Since switched capacitor can be integrated into a power IC chip, consequently, these converters have small size and high power density. Switched capacitor can be used in voltage-lift technique to construct DC/DC converters.

Linear-assisted DC/DC converters (or linear-switching hybrid DC/DC converters) consist of a voltage linear regulator (classic NPN or nMOS topologies and LDO) connected in parallel with a switching DC/DC converter. In order to control these hybrid structures, different strategies exist, allowing to fix the switching frequency as a function of some ...

Peculiarities of DC/DC converters based on the qZS-network were considered. Control system of the converter is described. By means of small signal model of transfer function the stability analyzes was performed. The results of the analytical analysis and experimental investigation showed that a DC/DC converter based on the qZS-network has limited but ...

As seen in previous chapters, use of the appropriate voltage for the performance required is one of the most powerful techniques for improving energy efficiency. This can be either done statically by choosing the single most appropriate voltage for the throughput required or dynamically by using information obtained by the operating system and ...
