Chaotic control of a DC-DC-converter
2000 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Emerging Technologies for the 21st Century. Proceedings (IEEE Cat No.00CH36353), 2002Recent publications on DC-DC converters have pointed out that a chaotic operation mode may be of advantage for EMC reasons. This paper proposes a boost-converter scheme the switching operation of which is controlled by a chaotic return map. A spectral analysis of the converter's input current demonstrates how the shape of the return map affects the ...

The interest for integrated DC-DC converters is greater than ever due to the increasing gap between the battery voltage and supply voltage levels required for state-of-the-art chip design. Moreover the multiple-voltage system design strategy, often applied for power optimization in large systems, also requires the generation of separate voltage levels.

On the reliability of DC-DC power converters
Collection of Technical Papers. 35th Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference and Exhibit (IECEC) (Cat. No.00CH37022), 2000This paper presents the results obtained from a study conducted to evaluate the long-term operational reliability of DC-DC power converters used in computer applications. A full-bridge, phase-shifted zero voltage switching (ZVS) PWM converter was investigated experimentally and theoretically.

DC-DC Buck Converter for Supercapacitor
2019 International Conference on Electronics, Information, and Communication (ICEIC), 2019In this paper, a DCM DC-DC buck converter for charging supercapacitor is proposed. The buck converter consists of compensator for gain and frequency compensation, pulsewidth modulation(PWM) control logic for switch control, clock generator, and soft start-up to reduce the inrush current of an inductor during the initial operation of the converter.

These days, on account of the immense advances in energy technology, sustainable power source has developed and turned into an essential part of the power system. However, the output energy that is collected from the natural surrounding elements is unstable, therefore this paper presents a DC-DC Buck-Boost Converter to control and manage the Energy ...

Switched-capacitorized DC/DC converters
2009 4th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2009Switched capacitor DC/DC converters are new prototype of DC/DC conversion technology. Since switched capacitor can be integrated into a power IC chip, consequently, these converters have small size and high power density. Switched capacitor can be used in voltage-lift technique to construct DC/DC converters.

The basic idea of converting DC into DC voltages has been studied in Section 1 Chapter 3. There also has been mentioned that to separate DC component a smoothing filter is connected between the output of the converter and the load. The filter consists of passive elements – inductances and capacitors, and in several cases it is included in the ...
