Novel Control Scheme of Three-Phase Six-Level Hybrid Flying-Capacitor Inverters With Self-Balancing Capability

open access: yesIEEE Access
In this paper, a novel control scheme is proposed for the recently developed six-level hybrid flying-capacitor inverter. In the conventional scheme, an auxiliary balancing circuit is required to regulate the voltages of split DC-link capacitors.

Voltage-Balancing Strategy for Three-Level Neutral Point Clamped Cascade Converter under Sequence Pulse Modulation

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
In response to the unbalanced DC-port fault of three-level neutral point clamped cascaded converter (3LNPC-CC), a sequence pulse modulation (SPM) voltage-balancing strategy is proposed in this paper to balance DC-link voltage, not only within the module ...

A Redundancy‐based scheme for balancing DC‐link voltages in cascaded H‐bridge rectifiers

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2013
A new voltage balancing algorithm is introduced for cascaded H‐bridge rectifiers. This kind of converter is made of a series connection of H‐bridge cells with separate dc‐links. The proposed balancing algorithm will regulate the voltage of all dc‐links to the desired reference value, even if the attached loads are very different.

Multi‐agent voltage balancing in modular motor drives with series‐connected power electronic converters

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
Modular motor drives can be considered as multi‐agent systems, in which the agents can work together to reach a common goal. One agent in such a modular motor drive consists of only a subset of the machine phases and power electronic converter modules ...
