Implementation of control and protection logics for a bidirectional DC/DC converter

2010 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2010
In this paper, a control strategy for a bidirectional DC/DC power converter is discussed, and the logics to guarantee the operation correctness in various operative modes and for safety requirements are considered. In Buck (or step- down) mode, a voltage PI regulator is proposed, whereas in Boost (or step-up) mode an inner current control loop is ...

Protection of DC and hybrid AC-DC microgrids with ring configuration

2017 7th International Conference on Power Systems (ICPS), 2017
This paper presents protection techniques for DC and hybrid AC-DC microgrids. The DC microgrid protection is proposed based on difference of transient energy at both ends of the line to be protected using voltage and current measurements. Method can identify the fault is either internal or external.

DC overcurrent protection-Where we stand

Conference Record of the 1992 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 1993
The procedures used to determine the DC ratings for fuses and the issues pertinent to ensuring a proper DC fuse application are discussed. For a better understanding of how fuses are rated for DC, Underwriters Laboratories UL Standard 198L is examined.

The DC/DC Converter with Inherent Overload Protection

2001
The most recent analysis of the half bridge ZVS multiresonant DC/DC converter is presented. Large signal circuit analysis was done upon performed mathematical circuit description and numerical calculation of the main circuit parameters. The performed analysis is suitable for the circuit development.

Converter Overvoltage Protection for DC-Grids

2018 IEEE International Telecommunications Energy Conference (INTELEC), 2018
Overvoltage protection for commercial and household installations with AC is well known and the market provides a multitude of suitable devices. However, in DC-grids, different structures, sources and loads are present, so new solutions are necessary.

Topologically Protected DC–DC Converters.pdf

This research paper explores the design and analysis of topologically protected DC–DC converters, integrating concepts from topological physics to enhance power conversion performance. Conventional power converters often suffer from noise susceptibility, component variations, and limited stability under transient conditions. By leveraging a topological

Protection of Low-Voltage DC Microgrids

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2009
In this paper, a low-voltage (LV) DC microgrid protection system design is proposed. The LV DC microgrid is used to interconnect distributed resources and sensitive electronic loads. When designing an LV DC microgrid protection system, knowledge from existing DC power systems can be used.
