The impact of harm reduction interventions on injection‐related bacterial infections among people who inject drugs: A systematic review

open access: yesAddiction, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and aims Injection‐related bacterial infections represent a major but under‐recognised health issue among people who inject drugs (PWID). Harm reduction interventions (HRIs) like needle and syringe programmes (NSP) and opioid agonist treatment (OAT) could mitigate their burden.

Nimotuzumab Combined With Chemoradiotherapy in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, EarlyView.
This meta‐analysis of 18 studies (3962 patients) demonstrates that nimotuzumab combined with chemoradiotherapy significantly improves overall survival and progression‐free survival in locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, without increasing severe toxicity.

Targeting KRAS for cancer therapy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
In recent years, therapeutics targeted against KRAS proto‐oncogene GTPase (KRAS)‐mutant cancers have seen significant progress. Herein we outline the biology and epidemiology of KRAS alterations at the lineage and allele levels, reviewing the clinical evidence for KRASG12C inhibition from the discovery of the recessive switch pocket to sotorasib ...

Phase II Trial of Nivolumab in Advanced Solid Tumors Based on Genomic Profiling: BELIEVE Trial (NCCH1901) Subcohort

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Off‐label nivolumab treatment guided by CGP results was evaluated in 56 patients with advanced solid tumors. TMB‐High was the predominant biomarker leading to nivolumab treatment. Nivolumab showed limited clinical benefit in 50 patients with measurable disease, with an ORR of 16.0%, DCR of 40.0%, median PFS of 2.7 months, and median OS of 7.2 months ...

Phase II Study of Cisplatin/Gemcitabine Plus Necitumumab for Squamous NSCLC After ICI‐Platinum Therapy (WJOG14120L)

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
WJOG14120L NESSIE evaluated cisplatin, gemcitabine, and necitumumab (CGN) as second‐line therapy after ICI‐based treatment in 46 patients with advanced squamous NSCLC. ORR was 26.1%, DCR 87.0%, and median PFS 4.4 months. Although the predefined ORR threshold was not met, CGN showed modest antitumor activity with manageable toxicity.

The E‐cadherin‐Wnt‐mir‐994 Axis Repurposes a Cadherin Switch for Niche Robustness and Germline Stem Cell Maintenance

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
In the Drosophila ovarian niche, an E‐cadherin‐to‐N‐cadherin switch, mediated by Wnt‐mir‐994 signalling, is repurposed to ensure niche resilience. This compensatory mechanism maintains niche integrity and stem cell support upon E‐cadherin loss, revealing a robustness circuit.

Areas of high risk for mammalian biodiversity and nature's contributions to people under global warming

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, EarlyView.
Climate change has reached unprecedented levels, causing frequent extreme events like droughts and fires. These changes are driving a sharp rise in extinction risk for mammals and threatening key Nature's Contributions to People (NCP) such as clean water, air quality, and climate regulation.

Disseminated Xanthogranuloma Harboring a GAB2::BRAF Fusion and MITF Pathogenic Variant Successfully Treated With Cobimetinib: A Rare Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Cutaneous Pathology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Several activating mutations and gene fusions involving the mitogen‐activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway have appeared in the literature regarding histiocytic neoplasms. We identified a GAB2::BRAF fusion in a cutaneous lesion of a 36‐year‐old male who developed central diabetes insipidus and reddish‐pink grouped papules on the bilateral ...

Ropeginterferon‐α2b in mycosis fungoides and Sézary syndrome: Safety and efficacy in 41 patients

open access: yesJDDG: Journal der Deutschen Dermatologischen Gesellschaft, EarlyView.
Summary Background and objectives Pegylated interferon‐α2a became the off‐label alternative for treating mycosis fungoides/Sézary syndrome (MF/SS) after non‐pegylated interferons were withdrawn. This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ropeginterferon‐α2b in MF/SS. Patients and methods We performed a retrospective multicenter analysis at
