Surgical Removal of Residual Tumor Masses in Patients Undergoing Targeted Therapy for EGFR‐Mutated Locally Advanced or Metastatic Lung Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 9, Page 2244-2261, 1 November 2026.
Non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations often exhibit significant tumor reduction following tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy. Residual tumors frequently remain, however, leading to drug resistance and disease progression.

Lanreotide, a Somatostatin Analogue, in Advanced Merkel Cell Carcinoma: A Prospective Single‐Arm Phase II Study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Merkel Cell Carcinoma (MCC) is a rare, aggressive neuroendocrine and epithelial skin cancer. Somatostatin analogues, such as lanreotide, have shown efficacy in managing other neuroendocrine tumors. Retrospective studies suggest that lanreotide may induce partial response or disease stabilization in patients with advanced MCC.

Efficacy and Safety of PD‐1/PD‐L1 Inhibitors Combined With Anti‐Angiogenic Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors for Recurrent or Metastatic Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma: A Systematic Review and Single‐Arm Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2026.
This single‐arm meta‐analysis (9 studies, 357 patients) shows that PD‐1/PD‐L1 inhibitors plus anti‐angiogenic TKIs yield an ORR of 48% and DCR of 83% in recurrent/metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Median PFS is 9.95 months. ICI‐naive patients benefit more (ORR 60.9% vs. 36.1%, p = 0.0028).

CLDN18.2 in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma: Biomarker assessment, spatial heterogeneity and therapeutic modality selection

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 5, October 2026.
This review presents a framework for selecting Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2)‐directed treatment modalities in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma according to tumour antigen coverage and spatial distribution. Representative assessment at baseline and reassessment after progression can guide treatment adaptation over time.

Comparison of Results and Complications of External D.C.R with Endoscopic D.C.R in Primary Nasolacrimal Duct Obstruction

open access: yesپزشکی بالینی ابن سینا, 2005
Introduction & Objective: Epiphora is one of the most common problems in the primary adult nasolacrimal duct obstruction (PANDO) . The surgical treatment of epiphora is dacryocystorhinostomy(DCR) which is performed in two methods : External and Endonasal.

Comparison of external dacryocystorhinostomy and 5-fluorouracil augmented endonasal laser dacryocystorhinostomy. A Retrospective review

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2001
Purpose: To compare the success rates of external dacryocystorhinostomy (EXT-DCR) with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) augmented endonasal laser dacryocystorhinostomy (ENL-DCR) and to record the complications associated with 5-FU augmented ENL-DCR Materials and ...
