Fluorene‐Arylamine Copolymers: Separable Control of Hole Transport and Light Emission Through Composition and Conformation

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 9, Page 2113-2121, 1 May 2025.
Copolymerization with arylamine initially reduces the mobility of the fluorene homopolymer due to trapping but increases with higher arylamine content, demonstrating that mobility in these copolymers is governed by chemical composition. While fluorene β‐phase conformation plays a minor role in transport, it strongly influences emission.

Opinion and report of the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) relating to an analysis of the health risks associated with exposure to caterpillars with stinging hairs and the development of management recommendations

open access: yesFood Risk Assess Europe, Volume 3, Issue 2, April 2025.
Abstract Several species of Lepidoptera with caterpillars bearing urticating hairs are increasing their range in metropolitan France from year to year, such as the pine processionary (Thaumetopoea pityocampa Denis et Schiffermüller 1775) whose presence was historically limited to the south of France, and which is gradually being observed in the north ...

Opinion and report of the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) on the assessment of the impact of fox population dynamics on public health

open access: yesFood Risk Assess Europe, Volume 3, Issue 2, April 2025.
ABSTRACT The Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) can be hunted as a game species. It may also be listed as a “species likely to cause damage” (ESOD – the acronym in French), for public health reasons among others. Conversely, benefits linked to the presence of foxes are also put forward, such as the predation of rodents carrying zoonotic agents.

Polygenic risk discriminates Lewy body dementia from Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue 2, February 2025.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Lewy body dementia (LBD) shares genetic risk factors with Alzheimer's disease (AD), including apolipoprotein E (APOE), but is distinguishable at the genome‐wide level. Polygenic risk scores (PRS) may therefore improve diagnostic classification. METHODS We assessed diagnostic classification using AD‐PRS excluding APOE (AD‐PRSnoAPOE)

Estimated and in vivo measurements of bite force demonstrate exceptionally large bite forces in parrots (Psittaciformes)

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 246, Issue 2, Page 299-315, February 2025.
Bite force in parrots has been explored using data from muscle masses. The values were validated by comparison with data for bite force collected from live parrots. The parrot's reputation for a strong bite force is well founded. Abstract Jaw morphology and function determine the range of dietary items that an organism can consume.

Guidelines for preparation and flow cytometry analysis of human nonlymphoid tissue DC

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 55, Issue 1, January 2025.
We here provide detailed protocols for isolating single cell suspension from human nonlymphoid tissues, such as gingiva, lung, intestine, skin, and different tumor tissues as well as tumor‐draining lymph nodes. Further, we provide gating strategies for flow cytometric analysis of human DC subpopulations in diverse nonlymphoid tissues.

Diagnostic Power of Head‐Up Tilt Test Enhanced by Autonomic ECG Parameters and Beat‐to‐Beat Hemodynamic Monitoring

open access: yesCardiology Research and Practice, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Objectives: The head‐up tilt test (HUTT) is a well‐established diagnostic procedure used to differentiate between the types of syncope. Since its introduction in 1986, the protocol has undergone several refinements aimed at increasing diagnostic accuracy.
